Indian Army : Gorkha Regiment

Since the independence of India in 1947, as per the terms of the Britain–India–Nepal Tripartite Agreement, six Gorkha regiments, formerly part of the British Indian Army, became part of the Indian Army and have served ever since. The troops are mainly from ethnic Nepali Gurkhas of Nepal and ethnic Nepalese origin people known as Indian Gorkha. The selection is open once or twice in a year. Only Nepalese youth from every part of Nepal and from every cast except Chaudhary cast can apply.

Open once a time in a year at British Army Camp Pokhara and Dharan Nepal, only Nepalese youth from every part of Nepal and from every cast can apply.
